Home to the 2nd most photographed mountain in New Hampshire Mt Chocoura.  It’s bald spiky peak easily recognizable.  Lake Chocorua is also where every February sled dog racing comes to back a tribute to the Chinook Sled dog born and bred here in Tamworth and taken to the Antarctic by Admiral Byrd expedition.

Tamworth is also home to the Barnstormers Summer Theater  established in 1931 and the Remick Museum teaching the ways of our ancestors on a true New England farm.

Granted in 1766.  Approximately 60.8 square miles.

One of Tamworth’s most notable residents was Grover Cleveland. Still to this day there is a road named Cleveland Hill Road.
